001 - Armatures

Sometime in Class, my first day of Remote Learning, I logged into Zoom, Nodded my head for a few minutes and thought “Wait What? what is an Armature in relation to landscape architecture?

After looking over several terms I realized that I was thinking of the world in armatures without knowing, and before this class, I navigated landscapes in a three dimensional manner instinctually. From understanding errands I wanted to run in my neighborhood to avoiding a steep hill the next block over, I was assessing the characteristics and relationships of my landscape above and below ground. In essence maps are not as objective they are always said to be they also contain valuable subjective content that shape the understanding of our environment.
